Originally, the Jio Phones couldn’t download and use WhatsApp but after working closely with Facebook and WhatsApp, the app made its way into Jio Phones. Jio has since entered the Mobile phone market, releasing two smartphones till date which are the Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2, both of which are powered by KaiOS. Jio does not offer 2G or 3G service However, it offers 4G LTE with voice over LTE (VoLTE) as a way to provide voice service to its customers.
For those of you who don’t already know, Jio (Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited) is an Indian based Mobile Network operator owned by Reliance Industries which has its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, formerly New Bombay in India.
